How buying this works. The photographs on this page are studio illustrations of this material and form — not a photograph of a specific physical piece. When you order, we go to the crystal market in Donghai, select a piece matching the material, size class and weight described below, and send you photographs, video and exact measurements by email. You approve it, or you take a full refund — nothing is dispatched without your approval. Once you approve, we dispatch within 1–2 business days with tracked shipping, and our 30-day return policy applies.
What you receive
- A specimen matching the material, dimensions and weight range described below, documented with photographs and video before dispatch.
- Its measured weight, dimensions and country-of-origin statement.
- Free tracked delivery to the contiguous United States; tracked international delivery at the rate shown at checkout.
About the images and the measurements
The images on this page are AI-generated illustrations of the material, colour and growth form described above. They are not photographs of a specimen we hold, and the piece you receive will differ in weight, dimensions, inclusions, colour zoning and surface features.
Weight, dimensions and origin describe the class of piece we source, not an item currently in stock. The price shown at checkout applies to a piece in this class. Before dispatch we send you real photographs, video and the measured weight of the specific piece; if it does not match this description you may cancel and receive a full refund.
About this Brandberg specimen
This is a single, collector-grade Brandberg quartz specimen from the Brandberg area of Namibia. It has a complex, double-terminated overall growth form with smoky-brown and amethyst-violet colour zones, a dark weathered exterior described in the trade as “old skin,” skeletal or elestial-style stepped etching, internal veils, and scattered black mineral inclusions.
“Black Super Seven” and “skeleton quartz” are commercial collector descriptions, not formal mineral-species names. We have not commissioned laboratory testing to identify every included mineral or confirm a seven-mineral composition. Scientifically, the main material is quartz with colour zoning and mineral inclusions.

Why this piece is one of one
- Old-skin surface: the dark, irregular outer layer preserves signs of the specimen’s natural growth environment.
- Double-terminated form: crystal growth is expressed at more than one end, creating a sculptural silhouette.
- Skeletal etching: stepped cavities and receding growth surfaces give the quartz an architectural, almost bone-like structure.
- Colour depth: violet and smoky tones shift according to lighting, with amber and blue-green reflections visible in some images.
- Black mineral accents: dark spots and irregular patches add contrast against the translucent quartz.
Condition and natural features
This specimen is natural and irregular. Small chips, contact points, edge roughness, internal fractures, cleavage-like lines, mineral crust, cavities, and dark surface or internal deposits are consistent with its formation and extraction. They are part of the piece and are not necessarily damage. Review every photograph before ordering and contact us if you need a specific angle or additional close-up.
Colour and transparency are affected by light source, background, monitor calibration, and viewing angle. The white-background photograph is the best guide to overall form and colour balance. Directed-light images are intended to reveal internal structure and may make the specimen appear more luminous or saturated than it does in ordinary indoor lighting.
Display and care
- Display as a decorative mineral specimen on a stable, dry surface away from edges and high-traffic areas.
- Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight to reduce the chance of colour fading.
- Dust with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth. Do not soak the specimen or use acids, solvents, ultrasonic cleaners, or abrasive polish.
- Handle with two hands or while seated on a padded surface; natural edges and terminations can be fragile.
- Keep away from children and pets. This is a collectible mineral, not a toy or a medical product.
Shipping, inspection and returns
Shipping follows our standard store policy: free tracked delivery to the contiguous United States, with international shipping charges shown at checkout. We carefully pack mineral specimens for transit and provide tracking after dispatch. Inspect the parcel on arrival and keep the packaging while you examine the piece.
Returns are subject to our published Returns, Cancellations & Refunds policy. If the specimen arrives damaged or is not the item ordered, contact support promptly with photographs of the parcel, packaging, and specimen.
One-of-a-kind inventory
Only one specimen is available. Once sold, there is no identical replacement because weight, dimensions, surface texture, internal fractures, and mineral placement make every Brandberg specimen unique. The exact measured piece shown is the piece offered for sale.
